Program

The three-day seaside event kicked off on Friday, July 15th, with Taranto’s Telepathic Dreambox and Brindisi’s Plof. Immediately after on stage there is Go!Zilla, a fuzz psychedelic punk band formed in late 2011 in Florence suggesting a sound that takes inspiration from 90s grunge atmospheres and 60s garage/surf singles mixing all with a punk-minded attitude during live performances. In closing, the Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti returned to the SEI Festival, presenting, among others, tracks from Inumani. Davide Toffolo, the band leader signed the “artist’s manifesto” of this tenth edition dedicated to the theme of Xylella. “When I heard this news I thought it was an important topic to make a drawing that somehow also expresses our position with respect to an attempt to defend the territory. It seemed to me a strong image this one of the Dead Boys around a centuries-old olive tree, ready to defend it”, Davide Toffolo underlines.

On Saturday, July 16th, the second night of the festival hosted A Morte l’amorefrom Taranto, La notte, a Florentine band (evolution of Two More Canvases) with songs in Italian and saturated and psychedelic sounds. Municipàl proposed tracks from their debut album “Le Nostre Guerre Perdute,” produced by La Rivolta Records with the support of Puglia Sounds Record. Main guests are the Ministers, one of Italy’s most followed and appreciated rock bands, who have racked up a series of sold-out tours around the country with their Cultura Generale Tour.

OnSunday, July 17th, the festival concluded with a long day of music that started in the late afternoon with Elektrojezus, Heidi for president, Giorgio Tuma, who returned five years after his previous album with “This Life Denied Me Your Love,” Lim aka Sofia Gallotti, an evocative ambient music project that combines esoteric spaces with existentialist and dreamy atmospheres, and Niagara, the Turin-based duo composed by Davide Tomat and Gabriele Ottino (already together in projects such as N.A.M.B. and Gemini Excerpt).

And for rock lovers, the SEI Festival come up with an unmissable out-of programm: onWednesday, August 17th, inLecce’s Roman Amphitheater, came Peter Hook – member and founder of New Order and Joy Division, pioneer of 80s and 90s music, a true legend for his “inventions” in the field of dance music – with his new band The Light.[:en](Click on Title to continue)
